Little Kid Weekend

This past weekend was a lazy weekend in Boulder. Christine was out of town and Thomas' roomie was gone so he came to Boulder for the whole weekend and we apparently decided to veg out and unintentionally embrace childhood.

On Friday....
We ordered stuft crust pizza for dinner, ice cream for dessert and watched movies. I used to love this pizza! Not as much as my sis, but it still brought back so many memories.

On Saturday....
I wanted to play outside so we went to Target to get a football because I cannot catch a football so it is time I learn. So while getting a football Thomas ended up in the toy aisle. First, there were a ton of insanely cute kids like memorized by all the toys. So in the debate between a toy plane/helicopter or Nerf guns we went with the toy plane. Once opening this piece of junk we returned it for Nerf guns.

This is where the true childhood calling began.

This is what we got.

It includes 2 vests, 2 guns, and 2 protective eye wear kits. Thomas literally was opening it in the car as soon as we left.
I will say yes we are dorks, but this was seriously awesome!

All set up in my gear....

Right after Thomas shot me in the lip with a dart.....

Once we were set, we named bases, safety zones and rules. Then the war began. And let me tell you it was intense. I mean sliding on my knees to reach a bookcase for cover, dodging darts, hiding and reloading. IT WAS GREAT! We did this for about an hour and then did shooting practice.

All of this totally added to my dream of being a CIA agent.

The weekend concluded with going to see Harry Potter!!!!!
It was insanely good, so good. I can't even tell you. That also added to my dream of having magical powers.

All in all. It was a great weekend!

Loft

Ann Taylor Loft has now become one of my favorite stores. They have so much good stuff right now and huge sales all the time. I think it's like a normal priced version on J.Crew since J.Crew apparently thinks they are up there with Dior and Channel now.

Today I was making my Christmas list and here are a few of my loves.
And all coats are only $75 for the next three days and your entire purchase is 30% off until Sunday. I'm a total sucker for sales.

This girl does not do this dress justice. I saw it in the store and it is SO pretty.

Obsessed with this detachable fur collar...

Current Obsessions

Ponchos and Native American style inspired knits

During a search for some of these wonderfully warm sweaters I stumbled upon a blog that showed the first (and my fave) poncho from H&M. When I clicked on the image it took me to this.

Is this real? Am I the only one who didn't know of this?

Why H&M? Why?

Dear H&M,
Why on earth do you not allow online shopping. You could make a fortune.
In the mean time, please stop purchasing TV advertising in the Denver/Boulder area where there is not an actual H&M store. Since there is no online shopping you are just making people angry at you for teasing us with your sweaters and jackets.

Why?

Hats off to You

I have never been big on hats. I have always liked my hair too much to let a hat ruin it, but this year I bought two new hats and I am truly obsessed with one of them. I think it all started with this commercial, which I love and makes me seriously applaud the marketing team at Target because I think it worked.

From this commercial I got a green fedora/bowler cap with a black trim and satin flower. I did not take it off the night I bought it (Christine can vouch for that). Today it snowed and I wore it for the first time! LOVE! I think hats have the power to give you a whole different attitude. So now I am on the search for more. And because I watched Confessions of a Shopaholic last night and she has some great hats in there.

Here is the one I have.....

Here are the ones I want.....

They just look awesomely cool in these hats. Jealous.

Puppy Love

I promise this will be the last post about my sister's pups for a while, but they are just SOOOOO cute and I miss them SOOOO much so I just can't help it right now.

Background: Gracie and Khaki were given halloween dog treats from my parents and Allison took pics with them right before they got to eat them.

Khaki: Eyes only on the treat.... practically drooling and about to pounce.

Gracie Goose: Always waiting patiently, so sweet not even caring that the treat is at her feet.

Pups

I consider my sister's dogs to be my dogs as well. Because they are. I will likely feel this way about her kids one day as well, but for now it's just the pups. Right now I am missing them terribly. This is why:

Khaki and Gracie... best friends and best cuddle bugs.

NYC

I am very excited right now! I just found out that a huge Parkinson's walk that I will be going to for work is on my birthday this year... wasn't that excited at first, but then I remembered last year it was literally just a few hours of work in Central Park and then I pretty much got to play the rest of the weekend in NYC. So the plan right now is for Thomas and I to couple it with a NYC trip for my bday!!! AND Thomas has never been to NYC... even more fun! Oh it's only 6 months off, but I'm still excited!!

Musicals.... Amazing food...... Shopping! I can't wait!

Halloweeeeeeeen!

I love Halloween. LOVE IT. So I was pretty pumped about Saturday. I was planning on kind of not going all out this year because I had been on a work trip last week and didn't have much time to pull it together, BUT come Friday night when I got my costume in the mail I knew that was not possible.

So Saturday started off at the craft store... two of them... then Target. After all of that I had everything I needed and I arrived home to the best surprise! Thomas borrowed cornhole from a guy at work and I was so pumped. For some reason all I had wanted to do on Halloween (Saturday) was to play cornhole, drink beer and be super excited about my costume.
Check on all of the above.

The squirrels ate our pumpkins every chance they got....

Here is what the costume started out as.

Here is what it ended up as! I was a firecracker and Thomas was Uncle Sam.
These are the only pics of the night from me since I forgot to charge my camera.

This is my "explosion" fireworks pose that I kept doing all night while leaping in the air...
